"Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book, and remembering - because you can't take it in all at once."

let them eat cake...

today's inspiration...lavish living, beautiful palettes and Sophie Coppalova film's

Any lady with a passion for champagne and shoes is an icon in my books

Marie Antoinette

ma8.jpg

Many did slate the film but i really enjoyed it. Propably because i adore the lavishness and extraordinary visionary details that can send a girls fantasies wild...of big pink feathers in your hair , gorgeous costumes and piles of baby pink macaroons.

yes i am sure the french revolution was a lot grittier, bloddier and without music by the strokes, but the idea is suptious. A time of complete luxury, and blinding ignorance.

I adore the costumes and sets these are a few of my favourites that are forever planted in my internal scrapbook...

For every evil under the sun
There is a remedy or there is none.
If there be one, seek till you find it;
If there be none, never mind it.

sketching...

like most artists, whether a musician, an painter, a poet... everyone gets a block and sometimes its hard to pick up and keep going. Sometimes you start and you don't succeed and really question yourself as an artist.

i picked up my pen today and drew

for the first time i think i'm getting my skill back

shame and exhaustion

perhaps because its simple but really has a meaning. I reflects how i feel sometimes and its great to explore it through a positive skill. The images childlike, effortless...they come from the heart...drawn without thought

for that is the best way to express oneself

i miss drawing
i feel like a little girl again
i didn't need an xbox, or blackberry when i was twelve...just a pencil and maybe a new set of felt tips!

rainy days and shoe shopping

AAAADDzCJEgAAAAAAKpp5g.jpg
Woke to a rather miserable, wet july morning, wandering wear had summer gone and why we don't rebuild our economy on umbrella sales alone i don't know.
Such days remind us that summer never lasts long and its much better to invest in a winter wardrobe.

On my wish list today

Melissa Vivienne Booties

Sadly these bow style are out of stock but the new range has cute little tassels and come sin a range of colours, oh they are so chic i want. I think they's look so cute cute with a rain mac or just simply oversized shirt for a summer spell of rain.

only a british genius could make wellies cool!

sunday on columbia road

i do hate a lonely weekend. It seems everyone is surrounded by family, friends and food and when your on your own you can feel like time has slowed down. But fill your sunday with the east end markets and time will pass sure enough. From the colours and smells of brick lane, the hustle of Spitalfields, the array of designer shops and the pretty charm of columbia road. Sunday is the famous flower market. THey've all been up since 7 but come about 3pm and you'll get a bargain as the vendors go home for sunday supper.

Whether you want roses, or pepper plants, you'll find it here. It makes me really wish i had a little green patch or at least a window box. i came at the end of the day so most had gone home and i mostly go for the atmosphere, but i did treat myself to a bunch of sunny Chrysanth's.

paper dreams

when days are up and down the one thing we have is dreams
especially when they are not fantastic we then have something to hold on to

if you are ever walking down the kings road (and if you ignor the snobs and the 4x4 its lovely) nearly every day someone is getting married

todays couple had a wedding london bus, decorated with ribbon
this is the confetti left
such a happy, simple thing

(a girl can dream)

heres a little celebration of wedding inspiration, but like most women the groom is the last on the list

ooo and check out anthropolgie's wedding shop!   http://www.bhldn.com/

today i'm eating... strawberry & cream tarts

I do love Le Pain Quotidien (especially this king's road branch which have lovely windows which open onto the street). It has a lovely communal table, warm and friendly staff and the smell of fresh baked bread. One of the hardest bits is choosing dessert.
so many lovely cakes, and tarts! i often dream i'll walk back from work one day and just pop in and say " oh can i take that yummy looking pavlova to go"

As part of a lovely lunch with my mum we finished with fresh mint tea and...Well in the spirit of wimbledon i decided upon this lovely light strawberry and fresh cream tart

a little bit of english charm made with belgium charm

I may just have to be back again and again until i've sampled all those yummy delights available...me feels the cheesecake may be next x

On Beauty...

i've been lying in the sun today, taking the opportunity to read my new purchase

Stella Magazine
A beautiful style/ lifestyle/ fashion publication from copenhagen. Its pocket sized and full of beautiful images. PlUS  wonderful blog too! This issue is all about beauty and what it is?

So under a tree in primrose hill, while having not such a nice time...i contemplated what i thought beauty truly was...

Beauty ( a definition) by coco

(noun) is not perfect. It is imperfection, modesty and acceptance of who we are.

the most beautiful things to me
bird song at dawn
mascarara stained tears
the ability to dream
+
a perfect sorry

sometimes i swear....

...i'm a holly Golightly in the making

(i even have the exact eyemask)

                         Quote of the day

"...I' M FAT AS A PIG, AND I HAVEN'T HAD MY HAIR DONE, BUT I'M HAPPY, REALLY HAPPY. ..."

Breakfast at Tiffany's (my favourite film. No matter how many times i watch it i still get so happy, perfect for lazy days, sick days, sad days ....and simply days to be inspired )It is a classic, perfect mix of style and heart but cleverly not too girly or in any way sickly sweet. I am also a great fan of the book, be warned the book is gritty and darker (better) but the ending slightly bitter to taste.

(ive had a truly lovely day and this is exactly how i feel right now)

for the love of anthropogie

i often feel like i was born a 30 year old house wife. I am quite ashamed how giddy i get simply walking into anthropolgie. Let alone when i unwrap a small package and delicately place food like art in it.

I often think that i get in such a daze in anthropologie that one day i'll wake up to find security dragging me out after curling up in their gorgeous bed linen x

carpe diem!, a photo by petit..♥..coco on Flickr.

i crossed the street just to view this
i love window displays and spends my life researching through my eyes
well i suppose it worked...

its not been good today so the words appeared as if by magic just to bring a little joy

i wish we could all live like this
i wish for many things
but this would be enough

todays quote: a summary of how every day should begin and end

Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

The Summer Day

i am proud of my photography if anything, it has been a blessing to record when you have no words to say.

bloom

todays's simple pleasure
a posy i brought from Liberty
it smells quite divine and brings a little smile to a day filled with both sunshine and showers
